Pistol Instructor Training

1.

1. If you DO NOT have an NRA Basic Pistol Certificate or an NRA First Steps Pistol Certificate, you must take the Instructor Led Training (ILT) for the Basics of Pistol Shooting and obtain an NRA Basic Pistol Certificate.

I do provide this class and give Pistol Instructor Candidates a discount.

2.  Pre-course qualification – this is outlined in detail on the NRA Website when you register for the instructor training

      a.     Link: http://www.nrainstructors.org/search.aspx

      b.    In the class description, there are several dates provided for qualification - you need to pick one.  The class deposit must be paid prior to qualification.

3.  Basic Instructor Training (BIT)

4.  Discipline specific instructor training.

Students must successfully complete all required parts to be considered for certification as an NRA Pistol Instructor. Steps 3 and 4 are usually given on a weekend with the BIT (3) given on Saturday and Discipline specific (in this case Pistol) given on Sunday.

This information is the latest requirements for the NRA Pistol Instructor Candidates as identifiied by the NRA as of June 20, 2017.

Please read these in total prior to registering for the NRA Pistol Instructor Training.
